Archer stated that he wants to focus on being properly fit for the T20 World Cup as well as the Ashes towards the end of the year. The 26-year-old had his elbow surgery on May 21 and will now undergo a rehabilitation program to try and regain full fitness. Archer made a failed attempt at a comeback representing the Sussex 2nd XI and then the main Sussex team. His fitness though was found out.
